The Girl with a Brave Heart: A Story from Tehran by Rita Jahanforuz (Jahanforuz is a popular musician from Iran.)
In this Cinderella-esque tale, Shiraz, a young girl growing up in Tehran, listens with her heart rather than just her ears, revealing an inner beauty that is unmistakable.  This story was originally published in Hebrew, and has been translated and re-published by Barefoot Books in 2013.  This is a beautiful story not to be missed!

Pea Boy and Other Stories from Iran by Elizabeth Laird, illustrated by Shirin Adl (Adl is from Iran.)
This collection of seven folktales is wordy, but captivating.  Written for older children with its trickster tales that don't always end well (sometimes even violently), the gorgeous collage-style illustrations will delight younger siblings.
