My mission: To get great multicultural and inclusive children's books into the hands of children and the grown-ups who love them!
Mama-Lady Books was started first of all because I love great children's books! Secondly, it's because I believe that there is transformational power in a book when a child connects with the right one. I believe that all children have the right to see themselves and their families reflected in books, and that all children deserve to have their world opened up to understand the world of others. Getting great multicultural and inclusive children's books into the hands of children is the key!
A little more about me:
My name is Stephanie Kammeraad and I'm a book-reading, journal-writing, soup-making, smoothie-inventing, vegetable-loving wife and home-schooling mama of two! My training as a Special Education teacher has served me well as a story-time creator and facilitator for an independent specialty children's shop in Grand Rapids, Michigan, as a coordinator and teacher of Heritage Camp (for kids adopted internationally to celebrate their birth culture - ask me more anytime as I love talking about adoption!), and now as a home-educating parent! Our family loves to travel, to learn about cultures from around the world, to take care of the world God gave us, and to live a healthy lifestyle. God has blessed me with so much to be thankful for, including that I get to share my passion for great multicultural and inclusive children's books with you through Mama-Lady Books!
