Cameroon:

The Market Bowl by Jim Averbeck
Yoyo is impatient with the way her mother makes bitterleaf stew (the national dish of Cameroon), so she decides to make it her own way. When a customer at the market offers lower than her asking price (for clearly inferior stew), Yoyo angrily refuses. This angers Brother Coin, the god of the market, and now Yoyo (realizing her greed and hastiness) needs to figure out a way to get his blessing back! This original tale from Cameroon also includes an author's note in the back as well as a recipe for ndole (bitterleaf stew.)
